What is Adipex?

Adipex P is a prescription-only form of the drug called Phentermine, which works by stimulating the central nervous system to suppress the appetite and encourage weight loss.

Phentermine was approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration in 1957, and Adipex came onto the market shortly afterwards.

How does Adipex work?

Adipex is classified as an amphetamine and has the highest dosage of Phentermine of the drugs available on the market, so works as a strong stimulant to the central nervous system.

According to an official website which examines the Phentermine Diet Pill, it works by forcing your body to go into “flight or fight” mode and has a similar effect to increasing adrenalin levels.

Although initially effective, Adipex can suddenly lose its effects after a few weeks without any warning, and because it is an amphetamine, also carries addiction risks. Patients have also been known to pile back on the pounds once the drug has stopped working.

There are several risks involved with using Adipex as a dieting aid, some of which are very serious.

They include shortness of breath, allergic reactions, swelling, chest pain, unusual thoughts or behaviour, severe headaches, depression, uneven heartbeats and seizures.

Adipex is not recommended for anyone with any serious medical condition of the heart, liver or kidneys, and is available only by prescription.

Is Adipex worth trying?

The available material on this drug suggest that it works, but carries grave risks as a weight-loss aid.

It is supposed to reduce weight loss by around 10-15% more than dieting and exercise alone, but it should be understood that these benefits are likely to be short-lived, with a possibility of quick weight gain after stopping the drug.

Adipex alternatives
